We are currently seeking a Lighting Solutions Technician to join our Edenvale team. This role is focused on specifying lighting solutions, consulting with clients, and translating requirements into practical, cost-effective lighting designs.

Position Details

• Location: Edenvale, Gauteng

• Employment Type: Full-time

• Salary: Negotiable, based on experience

Role Overview

You will work closely with walk-in clients, trade customers, and the internal sales team to design and specify lighting solutions that balance aesthetics, performance, energy efficiency, and budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Consult with walk-in and trade clients to understand project requirements and constraints

• Produce lighting concepts, specifications, and basic layouts for residential and commercial projects

• Recommend suitable fixtures, LED strips, drivers, profiles, optics, and control gear

• Advise on dimming and control systems including phase dimming, DALI, and DMX

• Compile accurate bills of materials and quotations for handover to the sales team

• Ensure specifications meet energy-efficiency goals and relevant compliance standards

• Provide technical support and value-engineering options to the sales team

• Stay up to date with lighting technologies, products, and industry trends

Requirements

• Proven experience in lighting specification, lighting design, or technical lighting sales

• Strong working knowledge of LED lighting, drivers, dimming protocols, and controllers

• Ability to read plans and produce basic lighting layouts
  (Dialux, Relux, or AutoCAD experience is advantageous)

• Excellent communication and client-consulting skills

• High attention to detail with a solution-driven mindset

• Lighting and electrical experience is essential

• Valid driver’s license required (site consultations may be necessary)
